Christian is a 2006 grad form St. Francis High School in Altedena California and stands 6'1" with a lean project able body. He shows good bat speed and a balanced approach at the plate to become a offensive type middle infielder. Christian has the arm strength to play shortstop at the college level and beyond. He's balanced approaching ground balls and his feet work well. As a position player, He will benefit from a bit better speed and quickness. He profiles as a 3B and possible catcher down the road with that strong arm and good hands. On the mound Christian likes to go after hitters from different angles, dropping down to make his fastball run and sink to get groundballs. He was solid at 85 mph and should add velocity as he matures and gains strength. His arm is loose and works well out front. Christian had a nice change up at 74-77 mph but didn't show his breaking ball. Overall, Christian is a talented two way player who projects well at the college level both ways. Time, strength and quickness will dictate which direction he goes. He is a very good 06 prospect and a good student.

Christian Bergman -- We’ve seen Bergman play at events on the West Coast before. He has a very projectable body for a sophomore but has surprising present strength even at 145 lbs. Bergman hits from a wide stance and generates good bat speed and extension with wood and showed us impressive gap power during batting practice, although he got a bit long in games. Bergman might best profile at third base. He should have the arm strength and bat to play at that position at higher levels. Bergman looks like he could step on to the mound right away and be a prospect. He generates impressive arm speed with little effort and a long, loose arm action. Bergman’s fastball was a steady 83 mph, impressive for a sophomore, and it left his hand easily. He also mixed in a 71-74 mph curveball. He's a good student who has to be considered a good prospect both because of the arm and the bat.

Bergman is a 15 year old Class of 2006 prospect with a very projectable 6-0, 145 lb. body. He showed us very smooth fielding actions at shortstop and good balance both at the plate and on defense. Bergman’s arm strength is projectable and he throws 81 mph off the mound now. At the plate, Bergman’s age and lack of strength slow the wood bat down but he made consistent contact and showed a really good idea of how to handle different pitches and different situations. He’s a smart ball player who is going to keep getting better physically as he adds strength.
