David Holmberg is a 2009 LHP/1B with a 6'4'', 205 lb. frame from Port Charlotte, FL who attends Port Charlotte HS. Holmberg is big strong, physical LHP. He uses a 3/4 arm slot and his fastball reached 89 mph in the Metrodome. His arm works well and he repeats his delivery nicely. He has a very good curveball that has bit and he locates it well. In fact he locates all of his pitches well including a 79 mph CH. Holmberg keeps improving each time we see him and he still has more in that arm and body. Will be very interesting to watch him continue to develop over the next year. He comps a bit to last year Florida lefty and sandwich pick Brett DeVall. Holmberg is also a very good student.
