Tyler Erickson is a 2008 MIF/P with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Morriston FL, who attends Oak Hall HS. He has a medium build with good athletic life. Erickson was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. He profiles best at second base, where his quick, soft hands and quick release will be a plus. Erickson will have plenty of arm strength for the right side of the infield but it might be short from the left side. He's a 7.08 runner. With the bat, Erickson has good hand quickness and strength and the ball jumps off his bat pretty well. He has a quiet approach and hits through the ball. Erickson's bat projects well with added strength, especially for a middle infielder. Erickson also took a turn on the mound and threw 80 mph with a 71 mph curveball and 72 mph change up, both of which were decent secondary pitches. Erickson is a good student.

Tyler Erickson is a 2008 MIF/3B with a 5'11'', 165 lb. frame from Gainesville FL, who attends Oak Hall HS. He has a slender middle infielder's build with room to add strength. Erickson ran the 60 in 7.19 and threw 75 mph during infield drills. He has smooth fielding actions and some lateral quickness. He profiles best to second base at the next level. Erickson's best present skills were on offense. He hits from an open to closed approach with a little hitch to get his hands going. Erickson has very good bat speed and showed developing gap to gap power. He likes the ball down in the zone and can turn on it hard. He did a good job of keeping his weight back on off speed pitches and made consistent solid contact. A little more strength could take Erickson to the next level as an offensive player.
