Cody Coffman is a 2008 MIF with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Cape Coral, FL who attends Ida Baker HS. He has a medium build with some strength potential. Coffman has good defensive tools and actions in the middle infield. He has a quick release on his throws and makes accurate throws with below average arm strength. He has the speed and balance to get to balls away from him and make outs. He profiles to second base with his developing arm strength. Offensively, Coffman hits froma very spread and open stance with a big upper body coil to get his bat going. It's a very busy and complicated approach that sometimes leaves him late to the ball. It does enable him to create some bat speed and he has good lift and extension to his swing. Coffman hit some balls hard to the opposite field and attacked the ball well. He has the hitting tools to keep developing as he gets stronger and projects as an offensive middle infielders. He is a very good student.

Cody Coffman is a 2008 SS/IF with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame from Cape Coral, FL, who attends Ida Baker High School. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Coffman has a slender build with projection. Defensively he has nice footwork in the middle of the diamond getting himself in good position to make all the plays. He has a lively body defensively showing good body control on slow rollers. He has soft hands with quick transfers that allow him to turn the double play quickly. Coffman is a switch hitter with a nice swing from both sides. He has a little more polish from the left side, but he is a legitimate switch hitter. He has a quick bat through the hitting zone with bat speed. Coffman is a line drive contact hitter, and his swing is short and compact that will allow him to hit for a high average. He stays balanced through his swing. Has upside to his overall game, and he is an excellent student.
