A.J. Regoli is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder from Palm Beach Central HS, residing in Lake Worth, FL. He is strong and athletically built with a 6'0" 180 lb. frame that should continue to develop. Regoli has an interesting skill set and was ranked #84 among PG National Top 100 position players. He hits from a square stance and has little trouble getting his swing started. His hands are quite lively hands and he fired them easily with a quick trigger. Regoli has good bat speed and with his flat swing plane, he is a quality spray line drive hitter to all fields. His lower half works well too and when he is able to more consistently get his lower and upper halfs working sequentially, he will really make a leap in terms of the type of results he has with the bat. A good athlete, Regoli is also a good outfielder. He made accurate throws and was executing one hope throws, rarely seen in showcases. He was able to do that and still show his plus raw arm strength when the ball was jumping out of his hand. If his bat develops a bit more, he could profile as a right fielder. Otherwise, he is a solid outfielder, no matter what field he is in. Regoli ran 4.50 home/1st and posted a 6.94 60 yard time. Look for him to attend a top D1 program before getting his chance in pro ball, which is likely if he just continues to develop the skills and tools he already possesses.

AJ Regoli is a 5'11" 175 pound 2007 outfielder and utility player from Palm Beach Central High School in Wellington, Florida who was named to the Top Prospect Team. He has a medium frame with very good strength. AJ has an outstanding arm that is whippy. He threw 87 mph from the outfield during the workout and there is more velocity in his arm to come. His throws were online and had good carry to them. Coaches will like his low line drive angle on his throws. He moves to the ball very well and has quick actions. At the plate, he has good present strength and is a top level hitter with a quiet approach. He has a level swing with good bat speed and gets good leverage in his swing. He is a contact hitter and drives the ball very well with good power potential. AJ throws from an overhand arm slot and is short in the back. He throws downhill and his fastball is heavy at 85 mph. He throws his curveball at 67 mph and his change up has good sink at 71 mph. AJ hustles at all times and is a very interesting prospect who is a good student as well with a 3.0 gpa.

Regoli is an extra strong and athletic sophomore outfielder from Florida who was one of the more impressive prospects at the showcase. We’ve seen Regoli before but he’s improved significantly across the board since then. He especially looks taller and heavier than his listed 5-10, 170 lbs and it’s obvious that this young man works hard on his strength and conditioning. Regoli showed prospect level raw tools in the workouts, running a sub 7.00 60 (6.96) and throwing 85 mph from the outfield with very good carry. He threw 89 mph the following week as well and looks comfortable at any outfield position. At the plate, Regoli hits from a very simple approach with little load or weight shift to the ball. He’s so strong and quick, though, that this doesn’t hurt him and help keeps him short and compact. Regoli generates well above average bat speed for his age and the ball jumps. He showed his power both during BP and during games and made consistent solid contact. On one hand we’d like to see some more rhythm and extension through the ball to give him a little more loft power potential, but on the other hand Regoli does what he does now so well that you can’t bicker with the results. Top Prospect!

A.J. Regoli -- Regoli is a medium built freshman outfielder from Florida with a very, very strong bat for his age. He’s much stronger physically than his size indicates and he can whistle the bat head through the zone with authority right now. Regoli takes an aggressive cut that’s straight to the ball and gets good extension and lift to his swing. He showed us a very good ability to center the ball right now against live pitching. This kid’s going to step right into a high school line up and hit as a freshman and keep hitting for a long time in our opinion. Defensively, Regoli had very good arm strength from the outfield but is going to have to work on his foot speed a little. AJ is a good student with a very bright baseball future..
