Mark Grimm is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 5'11'', 205 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends Holy Innocents. Stocky build, good strength. High 3/4's release, quick, compact arm stroke, clean mechanics. SL best pitch at 73 mph, also cuts low 80's FB. Has an idea. Also college level hitter, quick hands with solid line drive contact, can hit hard to all fields. Good fit for the right college program. Excellent student.

Mark Grimm is a 2008 P/1B with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Smyrna, GA, who attends Holy Innocents Episcopal HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team at this event. Grimm was the best pitcher at the event. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a clean and loose arm with good arm speed. He shows great pitchability mixing in three pitches in any count. His fastball topped out at 85 mph with arm side life. He also throws a good 12/6 curveball with depth and biting action, and a 72 mph change with arm side fade. He has great upside and is hard to hit. Grimm threw three innings of hitless ball while striking out 5. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from an open stance with very good bat speed. Grimm has a balanced swing with leverage at the point of contact, and he can drive the ball showing projectable power. He stays in well against LHP, and tracks the ball well. Defensively he has great footwork with nice hands and good actions at first base. He is a must follow, and is an excellent student.

Mark Grimm is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Smyrna GA, who attends Holy Innocents HS. He has a strong, athletic build and looks like he's in very good shape. Grimm has short, compact pitching mechanics and a quick arm. He doesn't close and load up his front side well, which probably costs him a bit of velocity, but his overall mechanics are solid. Grimm's fastball was 82-84 mph with some cutting action. He threw both a slider at 74 mph and a curveball at 68 mph and both had tight spin and sharp biting action. We didn't see a change up. Grimm did a good job changing speeds on his breaking balls and mixing up his pitches. His command was very good. Throw in a change up and he has a pretty complete package minus the velocity. Grimm is a good athlete and also showed prospect potential as a first baseman. He had smooth fielding actions on defense. He has quick, strong hands with the bat and a very balanced approach in the batters box. He hit the ball hard to all fields and is especially good at staying inside the ball and hitting hard to LCF. Good follow. Grimm is also a very good student.
