Cole Figueroa is a 2006 shortstop from Tallahassee, FL with a medium build at 5-11, 185 lbs. He ran the 60 in 6.95 and showed very good quickness out of the box in running 4.30 to first base. Figueroa has pure shortstop arm strength at 88 mph and can get the ball across the diamond in a hurry. His hands and feet work well on defense. At the plate, Figueroa hits out of an open, wide stance with high hands and a full, aggressive swing. He looks to have more raw power than his brother Correy although he isn't quite as quick to the ball.

Cole is the shortstop of the two Figueroa brothers. He’s a shade more lithe than his twin Corey but both have similar builds, with strong lower halves and muscular legs. There was a significant difference in their respective 60 times but it’s possible there was some sort of affect that we can’t account for, because the two look like they have very comparable speed and Cole looks much closer to a 6.9 runner than a 7.35 runner at this point. Cole can really play shortstop. His hands and actions are smooth and sure and he has pro level arm strength on his throws. As long as he can maintain his lower body quickness there is no reason to project him off shortstop in the future. Offensively, Cole hits out of an open left handed stance with a pull approach. He has some effort in his swing and will grunt occasionally, but generates good bat speed and keeps his head and eyes on plane and on the ball. Cole had some nice hits in the games and took a solid batting practice as well. He is a very good student off the field.
