Colton Highlander is a 2007 RHP with a 6'6'', 190 lb. frame from Augusta, KY who attends New Richmond. He has a very tall and slender build with long arms and legs. Highlander throws from a cross body low 3/4's release point with a long, slinging arm action. He needs to work on his balance and rhythm, which throw off his command and feel for his pitches. Highlander's fastball was 85-86 mph with plenty of running action. He threw a 75 mph slurve type breaking ball with a big, sweeping break. Highlander has prospect level arm strength and ability but needs some work on his mechanics and delivery to take the next step.

Colton Highlander is a 2007 RHP/OF/1B from Augusta, KY with a strong projectable pitchers build at 6-6, 190 lbs. He pitches from a 3/4 slot and his arm works well. He has a fast arm that shows good arm strength. He has a live 84 mph FB with late arm side run. His slider is a very good out pitch with good tilt. He is a smart pitcher with a very high ceiling. He has a great pitchers body and he will throw 90+ someday. He is a top level follow for 2007 with a very good upside.

Colton Highlander is a very impressive 6'5" sophomore right handed pitcher from Ohio. He has what look to be about size 16 feet and huge hands and there’s no telling how big and strong he might get in the future. With a high waist and sloping, strong shoulders, he’s projectable all over. Highlander has a well paced delivery but has a drop and drive type of approach that negates most of the advantage his height gives him. His arm works smoothly, with a short arm circle in back and good extension out front. Highlander’s fastball was in the 82-84 mph range with a high of 86. He frequently got his body out front on his breaking ball and was really throwing two different pitches. When his arm was keeping up, his curveball was 71-73 with a sharper, harder break that resembled a big slider. When his arm dragged, the pitch was slower with a bigger, softer break to it. Highlander’s change up is in the development stages. He has some mechanical adjustments to make but Highlander is a young, high ceiling pitcher who already does a number of things very well. Keep a close eye on him. Sky is the limit!
