Jeff Barto is a 2008 LHP/OF with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Boise, Idaho, who attends Boise High School. Barto is a young player with a lean and athletic build with projection. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a medium to long arm circle on the back side. Barto stays inline to the plate staying balanced through his delivery, and he has solid arm speed. He gets sink and arm side run on his fastball that topped out at 80 mph, and he has projectable velocity. Barto also throws a hard curveball at 68 mph. He throws strikes with both pitches. Defensively he has good actions in the outfield moving to the ball well. Barto shows his projectable arm strength throwing 78 mph with a clean release. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a slight crouch. He shows bat speed through the hitting zone. He has a good approach with quiet hands. He is a good student as well.
