Shane Miles is a 2009 OF/P/SS with a 5'11'', 180 lb. frame from Lake City, South Carolina, who attends Lake City HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Miles is a young player (2009) with present strength in his body. He has great athleticism, speed, and quickness, that allow him to play the game at a fast tempo. He ran a great sixty time (6.61) and showed his speed and quickness on the bases and in the field. Defensively he has arm strength from the outfield from a low arm angle. He moves well in the outfield showing reactions and range. At the plate he hits from an average base, and uses a short and compact swing. Miles is a contact hitter with solid bat speed through the hitting zone. He uses a line drive swing plane that will allow him to make consistent contact. Once on base, he shows his speed and instincts and can make things happen. Miles is a good student as well.
