RHP Craig Herrforth (Delafield, WI): Herrforth is a very raw but talented right hander from Wisconsin who showed his arm strength, pitching in the upper 80’s touching 90 for 2 innings. There is no telling how hard he might throw after a good pitching coach gets hold of him. Herrforth hasn’t signed with a college despite elite level grades, either. Some college program needs to grab this young man and help him reach his potential!

Herrforth is a strong and mature 6-1 senior pitcher from Wisconsin. He first got our attention throwing in the 90’s at the Indoor Pitchers/Catchers workout in February and has continued to throw well this spring. Herrforth has a rushed herky jerky delivery that adds deception to his raw stuff. He has a long, low arm action in back and a low ¾’s release point that helps him get good life on his fastball, especially down in the zone. Herrforth was 86-88 mph at the Spring Top Prospect Showcase and he had very good arm speed. His 66-68 mph curveball has good spin and bite to it and would benefit from more velocity. He also threw a 75-78 mph change up. Herrforth is an excellent student with top level test scores but has not signed with a college yet. Both his baseball talent and academic achievements should make him a great fit at any number of schools.

Craig Herrforth is a 2005 RHP/OF from Delafield, Wisconsin, with a 6'1", 190 lb. frame. Herrforth had the highest velocity at the event touching 92 mph. He throws from a mid-3/4 arm slot with a very quick arm. Herrforth drifts towards the plate, but his arm is quick enough to catch up. He has good late life on his fastball with some running action, and he worked his fastball from 87-91 mph. Herrforth throws a big, rolling 10 to 4 curveball at 69 mph, and also threw a sharp slider between 76-82 mph. He had good arm speed on his change up with some sinking action. Herrforth pitches off of his fastball, and has promising but not spectacular secondary pitches. Herrforth could stay over the rubber longer to get more leverage and allow his quick arm to work naturally and not just have to catch up to his body when he drifts towards the plate. Herrforth has the makings of being an outstanding power pitcher at the next level. He is a must national follow. Herrforth is also an outstanding student.
