Cutter Dykstra is a 2008 SS with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Thousand Oaks, CA who attends Westlake HS. He has a strong, tightly wound body just like his father, Lenny Dykstra. Dykstra plays shorstop now but most will agree he projects as an offensive second baseman at the next level. He has the arm strength and release for that position and his range will be a plus. Dykstra's offense could be a big plus in the middle infield. He's a front foot hitter who commits very early and gets out to his front side, but his hand strength and hand quickness enables him to drive the ball hard and consistently. He makes hard contact and can drive the ball into the gaps. Dykstra is a 6.57 runner in the 60 and can really accelerate on the bases; it's easy to see him racking up big numbers on doubles and triples and in steals. As you would expect, Dykstra is a hard nosed player whose engine is running on high the whole time he's on the field. He is a good student who has a verbal to UCLA.

Cutter Dykstra is a 2008 SS with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Thousand Oaks, CA who attends Westlake HS. Selected as a Top Prospect. Dykstra has a lean body with an athletic build. He has a medium sized frame with present strength. Defensively, Dykstra has solid defensive actions with a good feel for how to play defense. He has sure hands with a quick release. Dykstra has an accurate arm and can make the running play well. He sacrifices big throws for quickness and accuracy. At the plate, Dykstra starts with a straight stance with a quiet approach in the box. He gets loaded well and uses a good trigger to start his swing. Dykstra has very good balance through his swing an gets good weight transfer at contact. He uses his hands very well in his swing and has a very quick bat through the zone. Dykstra gets very good extension in his swing and has present gap to gap pop. He can hit the ball to all fields and is aggressive both at the plate and on the basepaths. Dykstra is a top level follow and prospect.
