William Piwnica-Worms is a 2008 OF/P with a 6'2'', 193 lb. frame from St Louis, MO who attends Ladue Horton Watkins HS. He has a high waisted build with good present strength and some projection. Piwnica-Worms is a live bodied athlete, he ran the 60 in 6.63 and showed plus speed and quickness on the bases. He has a slashing swing at the plate with a high leg lift trigger and some bat speed. He attacks balls aggressively and runs the bases even more aggressively, twice stretching what looked like normal singles into hustle doubles. Piwnica-Worms approach is going to create timing problems for him on occasion but he shows a feel for the bat head and you don't want to tone down his aggressiveness. Piwnica-Worms has the tools to play all three defensive positions and moves well in the outfield. His arm action could be shortened up some but he has good arm strength. Piwnica-Worms is an outstanding student.

William Piwnica-Worms is a 2008 OF/P with a 6'2'', 185 lb. frame from St Louis MO, who attends Ladue Horton Watkins. Named to Top Prospect Team. Piwnica-Worms has an athletic body with a good frame. He has a projectable build with room to fill out. Defensively, Piwnica-Worms has good arm strength with good carry on his throws. He moves well in the outfield and profiles best in right field. At the plate, Piwnica-Worms starts with a wide stance and is short to the baseball. He has quick hands with good bat speed. Piwnica-Worms has present gap to gap pop and has leverage at contact. He is aggressive in the strike zone and looks to lift. Piwnica-Worms pitches from an over the top slot with arm speed. He gets good extension out front in his finish and maintains good balance through his delivery. He consistently works down in the zone and has some life on his fastball especially when down. Piwnica-Worms runs very well and has good tools. He is an excellent student and should be followed closely.
