Jack Schellin is a 2008 C/3B/OF with a 5'11'', 195 lb. frame from Chino Hills, CA, who attends Ayala High School. Schellin has present strength in his body. He is a hard nosed player who hustles all over the field. Defensively he has solid footwork behind the plate blocking balls and on his throws to second base. His throws were accurate at 70 mph, and he produced a best pop time of 2.13. Schellin has soft hands receiving, and he is able to keep the ball in front of him on balls in the dirt. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who takes a short stride from a straight away and crouched stance. He is a patient hitter who loads his hands well at the plate. Schellin has a line drive swing plane, and he stays balanced through his swing. He tracks pitches well picking up off-speed pitches early allowing him to stay back. He is a good student as well.

Jack Schellin is a 2008 C/3B/OF with a 5'10'', 185 lb. frame from Chino Hills CA, who attends Ayala HS. Selected as a top prospect at this event. Schellin was one of a handful of '08 grads at this event and performed very well. He has a strong, durable build that is good for the catcher position. Offensivley he showed a quick bat and good bat control. Schellin can drive ball to the pull side when he is pitched inside but for the most part, he has an opposite field swing and approach. His stroke is, inside out, with is hands staying inside the ball all the way through contact, creating nice barrel lag. He squares up his body well at the point of contact, with his body behind the ball. Schellin has good hands and stays in the middle of the field. He should develop solid gap power. Defensively he shoewd good hands and quick actions behind the plate. He is a patient thrower but does have good catch/throw skills. Schellin's exchange is good and his feet work well. He makes accurate throws and will get quicker in time. Schellin blocks well too. He is a fundamentally sound young catching prospect who can hit. Schellin is also a good student.
