Drew Williams is a 2008 OF/C with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from Kevil KY, who attends Heath HS. He has a strong athletic build and a broad body that still has some room to add more strength. Williams is an interesting prospect with one for certain plus tool and the makings of another one. His arm rates at the plus tool, evidenced by registering 91 mph from the outfield during the showcase skills evaluations. The other tool that may develop into a well above average tool for Williams is his power. The ball spins really well off his bat and that results in some carry, which coupled with his present and future strength gains suggest projectable power. He has a flat swing and a quiet, no stride approach which will allow him to hit the ball hard to all fields. Williams not only showed a big arm in the outfield, albeit it with a long arm release, his throws did track well and the ball jumped out of his hand. Behind the plate Williams' arm is good, though not like in the outfield. His feet worked pretty well and his pop-time throws were consistently 2.03-2.09 in the workout. It would also be interesting to see him on the mound. Williams is a strong student and has some obviously noticeable tools. D1 programs should follow him closely and then he should also get some pro interest in the spring of '08.

Drew Williams is a 2008 OF/C with a 6'1", 180 lb frame from Kevil, KY who attends Heath HS. Drew has a projectable athletic build and showed a very good set of raw tools at the showcase. At the plate Drew will show solid bat speed and raw power when his is timing is on. He is somewhat unaggressive at the plate and lacks rhythm in his swing though. He tends to get rotational at times and really needs to modify his overall hitting approach as he has the tools to be a solid hitter. In the outfield Drew's arm really sticks out where he shows great arm strength and online accurate throws. He has a lot of effort throwing the ball and really needs to clean up his footwork. Behind the plate Drew is a little raw, but shows a quick release and transfer. Drew is a bit raw in a baseball sense, but has all the tools to be a solid mid to high-level college prospect.
