Daniel Petitti is a 2006 C/OF with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Roswell, Georgia, who attends Roswell High School. He has a projectable body with room to add strength to his frame. Defensively he was one of the best catchers at the even. He has nice footwork blocking balls in the dirt, as well as on his throws to the bases. Petitti has a very strong arm at 78 mph, and showed quickness on his throws to second base where he recorded pop times consistently under 2.00. He receives well, and handles pop ups with ease and confidence. Petitti communicates well showing great leadership skills. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a balanced swing. He is a line drive hitter with good bat speed and makes consistently solid contact to all fields. He has good bat speed through the hitting zone, and he had several hard hits during the showcase games. Petitti plays hard and is fun to watch. He is a good student as well.

Daniel Petitti -- Pettiti is a very young, slender sophomore catcher from Georgia. He’s obviously going to have to add plenty of strength to his 150 lb frame but he has a lot of time to do that and is already doing a good job of developing his baseball skills. Pettiti has a good swing path and good bat head control and knocked out a couple of game hits against much older pitchers. Pettiti had good raw arm strength for a 15 year old and impressed us with pop times in games that were equal to or even a bit quicker than his workout pop times. One skill area that Pettiti will have to improve on is receiving the ball and softening his hands behind the plate, but plenty of repetitions will help that. Daniel is a good student. Only an "06" he will create a lot of scouting interest in the next couple years.
