Joey Gallo is a 2008 LHP/1B/OF with a 6'2'', 180 lb. frame from Lone Tree, Colorado, who attends Thunder Ridge High School. Gallo has a lean and projectable frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm circle on the back side. He has a balanced delivery with no wasted motion and little effort. Gallo works the whole plate, and he throws strikes. His fastball topped out at 75 mph, while working in the 71-75 mph range. He throws a sweeping curveball at 67 mph, and a 62 mph change-up. Gallo has projectable velocity with upside on the mound. He struck out 8 innings in his 4 innings of work. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a straight away stance with a wide base. Gallo loads his hands well and he is spread at contact. He is an opposite field hitter who can hit to all fields. He is a very good student.
