David Port is a 2007 2B/P with a 5'10'', 160 lb. frame from Dunwoody GA, who attends Dunwoody HS. He has a mature body with some present strength and looks bigger than his listed size. Port is a high energy player who plays with plenty of aggressiveness. This is especially obvious at the plate, where Port takes a full, hard swing and maximizes his bat speed. He hits from a wide crouched stance and attacks the ball. He has some lift and extension in his swing and can hit the ball in the gaps and we've seen him occasionally pull one over the left field fence as well. Defensively, Port has very good arm strength for a second baseman and can play back and still get outs and he tends to like getting set before he throws rather than making plays on the run. He has sure clean hands on ground balls. One area that Port can improve on is his overall speed and quickness. Port has performed at a high level at many WWBA events in the past and is a hard nosed competitor. He is also an excellent student.

David Port is a 2007 2B/P from Dunwoody HS in Dunwoody, GA, with a 5'10'', 153 lb. frame. We've seen Port frequently in WWBA events and have really learned to respect the way he plays the game. He's a performance player and a real gamer. Port has good lean present strength for his size. He ran the 60 in 7.38 and threw 81 during infield drills. He has good arm strength for the second base position and plays an athletic style of defense, with good range and hustle. He's especially good going to his backhand. Port hits out of a medium stance with flexed knees and some coiling action in his load. He has somewhat of a power hitter's approach, with a full aggressive swing with some lift in it and good bat speed. The ball jumps some on contact and Port can turn on the ball and drive it a bit. He shows good bat head skills and makes solid contact. Port has also had significant success on the mound. He topped out at 81 mph at the showcase from an extended 3/4's release point and some effort in his delivery. His best pitch is a 69 mph curveball that is sharp on occasion. Port is an aggressive pitcher, just like he is an aggressive hitter and fielder. He plays above his tools in a team environment and is a smart baseball player. Good follow who will find a place at a good college program and contribute. Port is also an excellent student.

David Port is a 5'10"/155 junior infielder/right handed pitcher from Dunwoody,GA with 7.49 sixty speed and 4.72 home to fiirst time. He can hit and shows good raw power for his size. Port lit it up during the batting practice session and showed very good opposite field power in the Top Prospect game by hitting two shots off the RF wall. He's a right handed hitter with a short bat path and he likes the ball in. He has good bat speed and has balance in swing. Port showed a 79 mph arm during infield drills and second base actions. He goes to his back hand very well and has a good release on his throws. We've seen Port pitch many times during the past and although he lacks traditional prospect tools on the mound, he's been very successful against quality opposition. Port's fastball tops out at 79 mph and he throws a 66 mph curveball. His cross body delivery adds some deception and Port has an advanced understanding of how to pitch and move the ball around. He repeats his delivery very well and throws the ball to spots. Overall, Port is an overachiever type who knows how to play. He's an excellent student as well.
