Francisco Thomas is a 2016 SS/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Carolina, PR who attends Osceola HS. Outstanding athletic build, big and strong but maintains looseness and the athletic actions of a smaller player. 7.16 runner, has very nice infield actions, bends well and is flexible, stays balanced with his feet under him, smooth through the ball, very strong arm with carry, have to believe he will outgrow the middle infield and end up as a plus third baseman but was impressive at shortstop at present. Switch-hitter with legit bat speed and ability from both sides, similar mechanics from both sides with a bit better swing and bat speed from the left side, big coil and load from both sides, unwinds with aggression and ill intent on the baseball, gets extended and can drive the ball hard to the pullside but has barrel control. Has really improved over the last year in all areas of his game. Impressive athlete. Good student, attends high school in Florida but lives in Puerto Rico when not in school. Named to the Perfect Game All-American Classic Team.
