Christian Cain is a 2015 C/3B with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Six Mile, SC who attends D W Daniel. Cain has a large frame with a thick strong build. Defensively he has good arm strength with carry on his throws to second base. He has some catch and throw tools with developing footwork. Cain is aggressive behind the plate and made good back pick throws. At the plate, he starts with an open stance and a high hand set. Cain uses a big rock back and toe tap trigger to start his swing. He swings from the top down and has some bat speed. Cain has a rotational swing and made solid contact to the pull side. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. Cain has arm speed with projectable velocity. He has some slight drop and drive to his mechanics with an upright finish. Cain threw an 11/5 curveball at 66 MPH with some bite to it. He projects best on the mound but is a solid two way guy. Good student.
