David Wenger is a 2006 1B/P with a 5'10'', 185 lb. frame from Palm Beach Gardens FL, who attends The Benjamin School. He ran the 60 in 8.20 and threw 75 mph during infield drills. Wenger showed good defensive actions around first base, with advanced footwork and solid hands. Offensively, Wenger hits with a big coil and a Gary Sheffield style bat wrap. He has very busy hands but he shows the ability to get them into the hitting zone with some bat speed. He showed some opposite field power potential and swung at pitches aggressively. Wenger also pitches and threw 75 mph with raw pitching mechanics. He threw a 67 mph curveball and a circle change up as well.
