Victor Gonzalez is a 2008 SS/P with a 5'10'', 152 lb. frame from Greenachres, Florida, who attends Lake Worth High School. He has a lean and athletic frame with looseness in his body. Defensively he shows good range to the hole from shortstop. He has nice footwork that allows him to get in proper fielding position, and he has soft hands to make all the plays. He shows solid arm strength, but at times his throws are erratic. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits with a simple approach. He is a contact hitter with a line drive swing plane. Gonzalez centers up on the ball and stays balanced through his swing. He battles at the plate fouling off tough pitches. On the mound he throws from an over the top arm slot with a fastball that topped out at 78 mph. There is sharpness to his curveball that he threw from 62-65 mph. He keeps the ball down in the zone, and shows projectable velocity.
