Alex Stanco is a 2008 middle infielder with a 5'10'', 135 lb. frame from Fairfield, Connecticut, who attends Hopkins High School. Stanco is a young player with a lean and athletic looking frame. Defensively he has an accurate arm on his throws across the diamond at 66 mph. His hands work well in the middle of the diamond and he has the ability to make the plays. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a balanced stance with a quiet approach. Stanco is a contact hitter who stays balanced throughout his swing. He gets rotational at times, but is more of a slashing type hitter who looks to put the ball in play. He consistently hits the ball on the ground trying to make things happen. He just needs to gain more strength, and he shows the instincts for the game.
