Swenson is a very strong 5-9 catcher from Virginia. He’s obviously done plenty of work with the weights and he’s cut. Swenson’s best tool is his bat. He takes an aggressive swing and his strength enables him to generate nice bat speed. Swenson is short and quick to the ball with a good line drive swing plane and has a bit of lift at the finish of his swing. During games Swenson was a very patient hitter with well above average command of the strike zone. Defensively, Swenson has very consistent actions and throw times. He has a wide set up behind the plate which slows down his footwork some. Probably Swenson’s best defensive attribute is his attitude, which is hard nosed and hustling. Swenson is a strong student off the field as well.
