Omar Curiel is a 2008 RHP/C/OF with a 5'9'', 165 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines FL, who attends Everglades HS. He has a shorter build with some present strength.
Curiel has a 2 piece arm action, where he stops it in back during his windup and has to start it again. He throws from an overhand release point and has to pull his head off the plate to clear his arm. It's an unusual delviery that's hard to repeat. Curiel's fastball as 75-77 and touched 79 mph and was mostly straight. His delivery has deception and he hid the ball well from the hitters. Curiel threw a 68 mph curveball with fair spin and rolling break and used a split finger for a change up. Curliel also played some outfield at the showcase and fielded his position well. He has some bat speed with a hand hitch to get the bat started and a line drive swing that he kept short. Curiel has some strength and the ball came off his bat pretty well.
