2007 Hawaii Showcase Tournament
Grant Meyer is a 2007 3B/P with a 5'10'', 135 lb. frame from Wrightwood CA, who attends Serrano HS. He has small frame and a thin, wiry build. Meyer showed best during the batting practice round, much better than his game at-bats. He displayed some balance from the right side and decent bat speed that will improve with strength. From the left side Meyer works to get behind the ball and wants to lift it. He will need more strength to hit at the college level. Defensively he showed good hands in the field and made his plays. Meyer relies on a quick release more than arm strength in the field. On the mound he hides the ball well and competed well with his stuff. He is the type of soft-tosser that in short outings or perhaps a time through the line-up can upset the rhythm of the opposing hitters.
