Brent Millan is a 2008 RHP/3B with a 6'0'', 191 lb. frame from Azusa CA, who attends Azusa HS. Millan has a really nice looking frame for a young pitcher. He has wide shoulders and lean body type, with good present day strength. He pitches from an over the top slot that starts with a long backside arm action. As Millan learns to repeat his delivery more often, his stuff will improve. He tends to leave the front side of his body open as his arm comes through, taking away any potential leverage, and therefore, reducing his extension and affecting his velocity. That also leads to some cut on his fastball that comes from not having total control over his hand as he releases the pitch. Millan does have a good overhand curveball with 12/6 shape that elicited many swings and misses from hitters. It is a quality pitch. He works quickly and should be followed as a college prospect. Expect his velocity to jump a few mph in the next two seasons.
