2007 Rising Juniors National Showcase
Eric Guerrero is a 2009 3B/C/P with a 5'10'', 165 lb. frame from Upland, CA who attends Upland HS. He has an average athletic build that is still developing. Guerrero is a versatile player who competes well no matter where he is on the field. Long term he likely settles in as an infielder though it is too early to say for sure. His slashing swing has some life to it and he showed the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields. Guerrero starts out with a spread out stance and employs an no-stride approach. He keeps the barrel in the zone and looks like he has a chance to be a good hitter at the college level. Defensively he showed a solid arm and release from 3rd base. It would be interesting to see him work out at 2nd base. On the mound he has a 76-80 fastball. Guerrero came right after hitters and showed some savvy as he was adding and subtracting with the fastball. He has a slippery 69 mph breaking ball and a changeup with some dip action. Look for him to get better and better over the coming years.
