2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Lewandowski is a 5-10 junior second baseman from Colorado. He showed good present hand strength in batting practice and a good line drive swing with some bat speed. Lewandowski stays within himself and was a good contact hitter in games. Defensively, Lewandowski played a sharp second base during the games, showing quick hands and more arm strength than he showed in infield drills. He even tended to stay back on the ball a bit, trusting his arm strength to retire the runner. Lewandowski also took a turn on the mound, throwing 3 scoreless innings. He was 75-78 mph on his fastball from a standard ¾’s release point, with a 66-68 mph slurve type curveball and a 64 mph change up. Lewandowski is an excellent student.
