Evan Patterson is a 2006 LHP/OF/1B with a 6'4'', 180 lb. frame from Knoxville, TN, who attends Karns High School. He is a tall and strong pitcher who should be durable. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm. He has smooth mechanics with good balance and an online delivery. There is tailing life on his fastball that topped out at 81 mph. Patterson mixes in a big sweeping curveball at 66-68 mph, and a 72 mph changeup that he maintains arm speed on and shows arm side fade. He has good control of all three pitches. Patterson has projectable velocity, and has good tempo on the mound. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a short and quick bat path. He turns on the ball well staying inside the ball with good hands. Patterson is a pull hitter with some strength and power in his swing. He has two-way potential, and is a very good student as well.
