Cass Morrison is a 2008 3B with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA, who attends Carlsbad HS. Morrison has good core strength with an athletic and nice frame. He runs very well for his size running a 6.87 sixty. Defensively he has solid actions, and he has position flexibility. Morrison plays solid defense with arm strength on his throws across the diamond. He charges ball well, and might be wasting his talent when playing first base. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a wide base with a deep load. Morrison has bat speed with a balanced swing. He shows projectable power and he has the chance to be a middle of the order run producer at the next level. Very good upside offensively. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm circle on the back side. He gets good arm side run on his fastball that topped out at 79 mph, and he shows projectable velocity. He also throws strikes.
