Zackery Howe is a 2009 SS/2B/P with a 5'11'', 165 lb. frame from Meridian, Idaho, who attends Meridian High School. Howe is a young player with a lean and projectable frame. Defensively he has nice footwork in the middle of the diamond that allows him to get in the proper fielding position. He charges the ball well showing body control and athleticism. His hands work and he can make the plays. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from an upright stance with a narrow base. Howe shows bat speed through the zone with a line drive swing plane. He stays balanced throughout his swing, and he keeps his hands inside the ball with the ability to hit to all fields. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with minimal effort. He has a quick tempo keeping the defense on their toes. His fastball topped out at 75 mph while working in the 73-75 mph range. He also mixed in a 11/5 curveball at 68 mph. He is a good student as well.
