George Rose is a 2006 OF from Newman Smith HS in Carrolton, TX, with a 5'10", 200 lb. body. He ran the 60 in 6.93. Rose's throwing arm was one of the best at the event if you consider strength, accuracy and release together. He makes solid, on line throws with good carry that result in outs. Rose hits out of a balanced stance with little lower half involvement in his swing. His extra strong hands and forearms enable him to create very good bat speed with a line drive swing plane and stay short to the ball. He doesn't project to hit with much power with this approach but the ball jumps off his bat with authority and he'll overpower the ball at times with metal in his hands. Rose is a hustling, all out type of player who enjoys playing and shows good instincts in all aspects of the game.
