Clay Holcomb is a 2010 OF/P with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Owens Cross Roads, AL who attends Huntsville HS. Slender young build with projection. 6.69 runner, athletic actions. Long wrapped swing with bat speed, has power potential, looks to pull, lots of raw hitting tools. Good OF arm strength, can cover ground. Also pitches, FB to 82 mph, very sharp CB, wraps/tips CB. Very good tools, top follow. Excellent student.

Clay Holcomb is a 2010 OF/P with a 6'2'', 165 lb. frame from Owens Cross Roads, AL who attends Huntsville HS. He has a tall, lean young frame with minimal present strength. Holcomb is a good runner at 7.09 and should get faster as he gets stronger. Holcomb is an aggressive hitter with an open pull/lift approach at the plate. He has good levers to hit but his hands are still a bit weak at contact. He has the raw hitting tools to keep developing. In addition to his speed in the oufield, Holcomb showed very good arm strength for his age and should throw harder when he learns to move through the ball more aggressively. Holcomb also took a turn on the mound and showed good arm speed and a 80 mph fastball despite raw pitching mechanics. Overall, Holcomb has plenty of tools and skills to develop as he gets stronger. He is a good follow.
