Cason Borchardt is a 2027 OF/LHP, 1B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Horace, ND who attends Horace. Tall and projectable athletic frame. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth footwork to the baseball, fields out front and works through the baseball well. Has long strides to cover ground in the outfield and shows an already above average arm with carry and accuracy. Hit from a slightly open stance with leg lift timing, showed a repeatable athletic swing, staying compact with extension out front. Will drift some to contact but stays balanced and shows the bat speed and barrel control to consistently impact the baseball to all fields. Projects for a blend of hit and power from the left side. Three pitch-mix on the mound with a fastball up to 84, a curve with depth and a change-up/splitter with late drop. Really advanced movement profile on the mound and showed the ability to spot up with the fastball. High ceiling both on the mound and as a position player. Named to Minnesota Indoor Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
