Christopher Klapsa is a 2008 RHP/1B with a 6'5'', 183 lb. frame from Vero Beach, FL who attends Saint Edwards HS. He has a long and lanky frame with minimal present strength. He has a balanced delivery and stays over the rubber well for a big pitcher, although he does tend to fall off a bit on release. Klapsa's arm action is compact and pretty clean and the ball comes out of his hand easily. His fastball was 81-83 mph and has lots of running action to it and makes it a difficult pitch to hit. Klapsa threw two different types of breaking balls. His slider at 74 mph was the better of the two and had some sharpness and snap to it. His curveball at 69 mph tended to roll through it's break and wasn't as sharp. Klapsa does a lot of things well on the mound and the key for his development will be gaining more strength. He is a very good student off the field.
