Brian Rice is a 2009 RHP/IF from Camden Catholic HS, residing in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, with a 6'0"/170 pound frame. Brian pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a downward plane to the plate. He has a balanced and online deliver. His fastball has slight cut at 80 mph and he gets swings. Rice has a solid 10-4 slider at 69 mph and his changeup has sink at 69 mph. He hits from a straight stance with solid bat speed and good hands. Brian has a line drive swing plane with line drive power. He uses the whole field to hit. Rice has a low 3/4 release across the infield with an accurate arm at 72 mph. Brian has a quick release with solid range defensively. He is an excellent student.
