Curtis Ross is a 2008 RHP/1B with a 6'4'', 215 lb. frame from Waco, TX who attends Connally. Curtis has a very large frame at 6' 4", and has very large thick legs. He also has some present strength in his upper body. He moves well around first base and is a nice target for his infielders. His arm works nice and loose, and his has some arm strength. His top velocity across the infield was 77 mph. At the plate Curtis stays balanced and has a good finish to his swing. He hustles down the line every time. At times he will get long with his swing, but produces solid contact and flashes some pop when he stays short. On the mound he has good tempo and solid mechanics with a long loose arm on the backside. He is a medium effort guy with some arm speed out of an over the top arm slot, and he does a good job keeping the ball down in the zone. He has slight arm side run on his fastball, which topped at 79 mph. He also flashed a solid changeup that topped at 68 mph. He is a good student.
