Dike is a 6-4, 218 lb senior left handed pitcher from Nebraska. He ran the 60 in 7.31 and threw 81 mph from first base during infield drills. Dike pitched 3 effective innings at the showcase, throwing a 76-80 mph fastball, 61-63 mph curveball and 71 mph change up. He did a good job of mixing up his pitches, changing speeds and getting hitters to put the ball in play. Dike lacks a swing and miss pitch right now until he can develop more power and velocity on his pitches but can be effective as a big lefty with some pitching knowledge. Dike also showed some ability with the bat. He has a no load, no stride approach at the plate which doesn’t suit a power hitter will but generates good bat speed and has some loft in his swing. He could really come on with some adjustments offensively.
