2005 Sunshine West Showcase
Jack Dunn is a 2006 LHP/OF from Lake Havasu HS in Arizona with a 6'1", 180 lb. frame. On the mound the left handed pitcher has a high leg kick and throws from an over the top arm slot. Dunn drops his lead leg before his stride to the plate. His fastball topped out at 78 mph with little life because of his high arm angle. Dunn has a nice curveball with a 1/7 tilt and good depth. He works the outside corner, and is very tough on left handed hitters. Defensively he has solid arm strength from the outfield with good accuracy and on-line throws. He is a left handed hitter with good bat speed from an open stance. He pulls off at times trying to pull the ball, however Dunn did a great job staying inside the ball when he hit a hard line drive on a hit and run in one of the showcase games. Academically he is a strong student with interest in top academic schools.
