Jake Onorato is a 2007 outfielder/first baseman from Temecula, California with a large frame that shows strength at 6'1", 178 pounds. He hits from a slightly crouched position with a wide base and little or no stride. He tends to get out front and doesn't get full use of his lower half during his swing. He has a good swing plane with a nice high extended finish. He has a quick bat and shows the potential to hit for big time power. He is athletic looking, and he ran a 7.33 in the 60. He has very good baseball instincts and runs the bases well. Onorato has a very short compact arm action from a high 3/4 slot. He showed decent arm strength at 77 mph from the outfield. He has a projectable body that has lots of room to add strength,. He could be a high level prospect for 2007.
