Jake Rabinowitz is a 2005 3B/P from New York. He is a big 6'4" athlete with strong hips and thighs. He’s listed as a primary third baseman, but he looks like a better pitching prospect right now to us. On the hill Rabinowitz has a long, loose arm and good extension on a fastball that topped out at 85 mph with some life to it. His curveball is an 11-5 breaker that is tight sometimes at 69-72 mph. Rabinowitz is still on the raw side as a pitcher but the physical talent to improve is definitely there. Rabinowitz’s size and relative speed will limit him to first base as a position player. His overall strength gives him some bat speed with wood and he made consistent solid contact during BP and in games. Like his pitching mechanics, Rabinowitz’s hitting stroke his on the raw side, but he can mash. Jake is a good student.
