2003 Northeast Underclass Showcase
Koperniak is a strong looking catcher at 6 foot and 185 pounds. He showed good body mechanics behind the plate and as he gains additional arm strength it will give him a sizeable improvement in his pop times. He presently showed a 2.25 pop time on more than one throw and defensively we can see the potential in his game. At the plate he showed some strength and hit the ball well with a good amount of power potential. He took a fastball in the gap for a double and displayed good speed on the basepaths for a catcher. He projects good over the next year and was selected to the Top Prospect game. Jason is a very good student.
