2005 Ohio Valley Top Prospect
Jesse Hernandez is a 2006 RHP/SS/3B from Kelloggsville HS in Kentwood, MI, with a 5'11'', 182 lb. frame. He throws from an easy drop and drive delivery with a long, full arm action. He gets very good extension out front on his release and good looseness throughout. Hernandez's fastball topped out at 84 mph with some arm side life to it. His best pitch was a 11/5 curveball that had good depth and bite to it. His change up had sink at 75 mph. Hernandez also showed some prospect tools as an infielder. He has good infield actions and moves to the ball well. He showed a balanced approach at the plate with a line drive swing plane and good gap to gap power potential. Hernandez is a very good 2-way player with the potential to play well at the next level. He's also a good student.
