Andrew Hockenbury is a 2006 LHP/1B from Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, Georgia, with a 5'10'', 185 lb. frame. He is a athletic and strong pitcher with strong legs and a wide back. Hockenbury has a loose arm on the mound from a 3/4 to high 3/4 arm slot. He stays balanced and online in his delivery with good extension out front on his release. Throws quality pitches and shows good control with both his fastball and curveball. Hockenbury gets a nice downward path to the plate with his fastball that topped out at 81 mph. He uses both sides of the plate with his fastball and keeps it out of the middle of the plate. His curveball has good depth and spin at 70 mph, and he can throw the pitch for strikes. He has a good tempo on the mound that will keep his defense in the game. Offensively he is a left handed hitter with a line drive swing plane and makes solid contact. He is solid around the first base bag with a solid arm on his throws.
