Jesse Vermeersch is a 2006 right handed pitcher/outfielder from Sarasota, Florida, with a 5'11", 170 lb. frame. He pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with controlled mechanics. Vermeersch has good balance in his delivery with good arm speed. His fastball topped out at 81 mph with good tail, and he showed solid control of the pitch. His 11 to 5 curveball was tight with late breaking action at 73 mph. Vermeersch is athletic and repeats his delivery well. He pitched three innings and allowed only one run while striking out five. He didn't participate in the workout sessions, but he did get three at bats in a showcase game and showed he has very good speed and athleticism.
