2004 Underclass National Showcase
Jimmy Carroll -- Carroll is a junior catcher from Kansas with good upper body strength. Carroll uses his arm and hand strength well at the plate. He generates good leverage and bat speed with an opposite field approach. With metal in his hands, Carroll is going to drive the ball hard to the right centerfield gap and even loft some home runs. What position Carroll plays is still to be determined. His arm strength is a bit short for catching at the next level. He does move well and knows how to receive. The bat will get him to college ball. Jimmy is a very good student.
