John Walker is a 6'3", 160 lb. shortstop/pitcher from Alexandria, Virginia. In the field he threw 81mph across the infield with good carry on his throws and showed very good hands and quickness on double plays. John is a switch hitter who showed better bat speed and contact ability from the right side. He has a pronounced hand hitch from the right side, but generates some good bat speed and shows hand strength. From the left side, John has more of a rotational swing that utilizes less of his hands. John also pitched some and showed promise on the mound. His delivery mechanics are raw and complicated, but he showed good arm looseness and a fastball that reached 82 mph, along with a 68 mph curveball that had fair spin, and a 74 mph change up. John is an excellent student.
