John Torris Jr. is a 2005 student from Germany as part of a military family. He has a strong and mature 6'2", 190 lb. frame that still has some projection. Torris has some stiffness to his actions both as a pitcher and hitter, but plays through them well. He topped out at 80 mph from the mound while striking out six hitters in three innings of work. Torris’ curveball was 68-69 mph and he controlled both pitches very well. At the plate, Torris has lots of hand and body movement, but swings hard and made good contact against live pitching. This young man really impressed us with his approach to the game. He hustles at all times and played above his natural tools in all areas. He does possess natural athletic ability so he projects very nicely. John is a very good student.
