Harris Rome is a 2011 OF/LHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Memorial. Slender young build, plenty of room to add strength. Very good defensive outfielder, 6.79 runner, quick first step, aggressive to the ball, solid arm strength, smooth balanced actions. Crouched open stance hitting, never closes, pulls off ball in swing, pre-load approach, somewhat of a Japanese/Ichiro type approach, limited ability to drive ball at present, 4.20 home to 1B. Also pitched, consistent 85-86 mph fastball, sound mechanics, high 3/4's release, threw strikes, some sharpness to 72 mph CB. Very good student.
